PSAOur next meeting is TONIGHT, Wednesday, March 11th at 7:00pm in our school library. Please join us!

 

Coronavirus- Each of our classrooms could use disinfectant wipes. Thank you! We met with Father last Tuesday. We are being especially vigilant about washing our hands often throughout the day especially when we sneeze or cough. We are also being vigilant about expecting the children to sneeze or cough into their elbow. We are disinfecting tabletops, chairs, toys and everything we touch. We only touch and eat our own food at snack and lunch times. On Friday, March 20th, we will be cleaning and disinfecting our entire school, classrooms, restrooms, hallways, office, etc. Please see the enclosed article. Also, please see the enclosed ideas for continuing your child’s/children’s education at home if we should be directed to close our school for a period of time due to the Coronavirus.

 

Mr. Aaron Markey- Environmental Conservation Officer, will be at Morning Program this week to tell us about his job. He will teach us about enforcing environmental laws that help us to protect the environment.

 

Rice Bowls- We have Lenten Rice Bowls still available in our office. Also, each of our classrooms has a Rice Bowl if your child would like to contribute spare change in his/her classroom anytime during Lent.

 

Lent- Please help us collect food for the food bank. Any non-perishable items are welcome. We have a table set up in both the lobby near the office and in the Pre-K 3’s/Kindergarten hallway for collecting all food items. Thank you to all who have already contributed food!

 

Friday, March 13th- Herkimer CSD does not have school, but WE WILL have school that day.

 

SHOW AND TELL: Monday, March 16th Please bring an item that makes you think of spring!

 

Wednesday, March 18th- 8:30-9:15 Kindergarten will be putting on a presentation for St. Patrick’s Day at Morning Program. Kindergarten parents are welcome to attend.

 

NO SCHOOL FRIDAY, MARCH 20th – Teachers will be cleaning the school!

 

Transportation Request- If you live in the Herkimer, CVA, Frankfort, or West Canada districts AND your child will be in Kindergarten or First Grade here at St Francis for the 2020-2021 school year, you may request a transportation form from our office. This will allow your child to ride a bus to and from our school. These forms MUST be returned to our office by Friday, March 13th at the latest. There is an April 1st deadline for each school district.

 

Pizza Dates- All Fridays in March with the exception of the 20th.

 

Wednesday, March 25th at 9am- Mrs. VanSanford will be presenting proper handwashing and teaching us about germs and why proper handwashing is important to good health.

 

Before and Aftercare- Juice and snacks are needed for aftercare. We also need paper cups and napkins. We are getting low. Thank you so much for anything you are able to send to us.

 

MOTHER GOOSE OLYMPICSThis event will take place in April and will include Pre- K 4’s, and Kindergarten!  

 

PEE WEE OLYMPICS- This event will take place in May and we will include Pre-K 3’s. More information will follow.

 

UTICA ZOO TRIP - Pre-K 4’s and Kindergarten will go to the Utica Zoo in June. Pre-K 3’s will be having a beach (or camp) day in the classroom that day.

 

MEMORY BOOKWe will have a school year book. Mrs. VanSanford, Mrs. Spisak, and Mrs. Crandall are our chairpersons. If you have any great pictures of events you have attended, please put them inside an envelope with your name and send in to our school office. You could also email any pictures to us at stfranciseclc@gmail.com

 

Field Day- We will have a Field Day on Thursday, June 16th.

 

Pre-K 3 Moving up ceremony will be Friday, June 19th.

 

Last Day of School- for 3’s and 4’s is Friday, June 19th.

 

GRADUATION – Pre-K 4’s and Kindergarten Monday, June 22nd.

 

Last Day of School- for Kindergarten is Wednesday, June 24th.
