ST. FRANCIS DE SALES EARLY CHILDHOOD LEARNING CENTER

September 11, 2019

Welcome to a great new year at St. Francis de Sales Early Childhood Learning Center! It was great seeing so many of you at the Orientation on August 29th.

We’re beginning to settle into a routine…..working out the bumps for the start of a wonderful school year!

Many thanks to the faculty for all their work getting ready for Orientation.

Mrs. Nancy Saunders is back as our school nurse this year on Tuesdays.

Mr. Preston Brown is back as our P.E. teacher.

Ms. Nancy Stowell is back for bi-weekly library time. Each teacher will take her class to the library on “off” weeks for story time and to return/sign out a new book. This way the children will visit the library weekly!

Mrs. Donna Dillman is back for music.

REMINDERS:

Please send the following items daily with all students Pre-K and K, and PLEASE LABEL EVERYTHING:

*Water bottle

*Sneakers for P.E. and recess

*snack

As per NYS childcare regulations, no homemade treats can be brought in for parties, please only send packaged store-bought treats.

Dojo: This keeps you up to date with the latest information. If you would like to be a part of this, please sign and return the form we sent home.

Kindergarten parents:

Please sign your child in on the clipboard at the Before Care Room if you arrive 7:45 or earlier.

Mrs. C is looking for a room parent. If you can do this, please let Mrs. C. know.

Kindergarten Parent Night – September 26th from 6:30 to 7:00.

PSA: PARENT SCHOOL ASSOCIATION - You are all invited to our first PSA meeting on September 26th at 7:00 in our school library (right after Kindergarten Parent Night). Please join us to plan upcoming events and programs for our children.

Pre-K 3’s and 4’s:

Parents, please sign your child in on the clipboard at the Before Care Room downstairs if you arrive at 7:45 or earlier.

All children must be signed in and out every day. Thank you. We really appreciate your diligence with this.

Library Books – We have library every Monday. Your child gets to choose a book of his/her choice and sign it out. Please help your child with remembering to bring it back by Monday of the next week. If you get to read it before Monday, feel free to have your child bring it back earlier and we’ll keep it in our classroom until we have library.

School Office:

Our secretary, Mrs. Marianne Dillenbeck, is here from 8:00 A.M. – 2: 30 P.M. Please call us in the morning if your child is going to be absent. 315-868-4831.

Pre-K parents will need to keep all before and after care receipts when they are sent home for tax purposes. Pre-K tuition and before and after Care may be tax-deductible.

Pizza orders – We have pizza every Friday. If your child would like to order for this month, please send $3.75 in an envelope with your child’s name on it, what it is for, and how much is in the envelope. If you are interested in volunteering to help pass out pizza to classrooms and are available from 11:00-12:00 on Fridays, please let Mrs. Dillenbeck know in the office. Thank you.

Hand books – Anyone who did not receive a student handbook in June when we mailed them to families, please stop by our office and pick one up. You can access our hand book on our website at www.stfrancisearlychildhood.org.

PARKING – Please do not park in any of the spaces toward the church building.

The first space must be kept clear for emergency vehicles. The others are for church use only. If you are handicapped, the second handicapped space, away from the school, may be used. The street side is the only side the school will be using. You may also park on the street. This includes all school days and special events. If you need assistance getting your child in or out of the building, please call the office (315-866-4831) and someone will be happy to help you.

YEARBOOK - We are looking for a small group of 3 to 4 people to help with our yearbook for this year. If you are interested, please write a note and send it in with your child. Thanks.

Prayer to Begin a School Year

God of Wisdom and Might,

We praise you for the wonder of our being,

For Mind, Body, and Spirit.

Be with our Children as they begin a new School Year.

Bless them and their Teachers and Staff.

Give them strength and grace as their bodies grow;

Wisdom and knowledge to their minds

As they search for understanding

And peace and zeal to their hearts.

We ask this through Jesus Christ our Lord.

Amen

Please keep in your prayer all people affected by the hurricane.
